Announcement:Hmm...not quite sure how to start...here goes...
I've talked with Jinzin and Scoobless and some interesting things have come to light. More than anything, it shows the need for revising the voting procedures for tournaments, but to fully understand it I'll just explain what happened...
Jinzin, upon PM'ing some who had voted for Scoobless to try and find out their reasons for voting, received responses (I don't know the exact nature of them) that led him to believe they were voting for Scoob without having read through the match....simply to vote for him. That led him to take action and PM others who would do the same for him. That said, I don't want to implicate either of doing anything wrong. Jinzin admitted to having PM'd some to vote for him, but was adamant that he was only returning in kind what other voters had done to him and felt that the majority of his votes were merely from debating and amalgam strength.
This whole thing is unfortunate, and like I said it shows us that a new system of voting is probably needed. The match was a good one, and both received numerous votes merely based upon the strength of their amalgams and debating. Such as it is, Jinzin is the winner, and I sincerely hope nothing like this will happen in the finals.
I apologize for my initial comments that made Jin seem like the "bad guy." It probably wasn't right to do it anyway, but it at least wasn't without some justification.
I hope that this is behind us. I don't want a damper upon an otherwise pretty sweet tourney because of it.

...just wanted it on this page...
Thanks for the suggestion, but I won't be involved in another tourney...maybe someone else. Or having sign-ups for those who want to vote. There's more than one option.
In any case, that can be decided at a later date...it's not terribly important right now. The voting will stay the same for the remainder of this tourney.

calm down ya freakin psycho ... lol
the tourney's are normally just run by a forum regular ... the fact that Digi was running this and being a mod is just a coincidence
you'll probably get your shot to lose in the first round before too long

As to the voting: Really, there's no way to make voting open to the public and have it be foolproof. I actually really like the judges idea. Maybe whoever runs the next tourney can pick some two or four other people (odd numbers prevents a hung jury situation) and let the prticipants in the tourney vote, either publically or via PM ow hether they trust those people to be impartial. Majority wins. You could still have voting, so that maybe in some cases the guy who the judges passed over could save face by saying he still won the popular vote.
I dunno, it's just a thought.

fine i have something to say...i am really digi...yes its true..i have created the account of rage to show my wild side....i am in fact rage17.....didn't you understand it you fools?
Once again I'm strapped for time. The matches will be up at some point for the finals and whatnot. I'll try to get to them tonight but I can't promise anything.
And no "taking off the restrictions" of characters for the other round. Might make things lopsided and I want to see a good fight, even if it's only for 3-5.
...and, um, thanks for the endorsement TGX, but tourneys will do fine without me. I'll be around, and (if possible) will vote in them....but being a "judge" would require a bit too much time and pressure right now.
Rage is hilarious...apparently he's just everyone on this forum. He's really just having a long conversation with himself. LOL.

its time to face the truth that we are the same person......they must know! i am 78% of the people here......
If we do end up having judges, I'll volunteer... I find I enjoy watching matches more than debating, and I get pissed when something like the Jin/Scoob fight happens. (people almost flaunt the fact that they have no idea what's going on in the fight) Electing judges would be pretty sweet too.. Like one person oversees the drafts, then the participants elect 4 other willing judges. (assuming we have more volunteers than 4, of course)
