And besides, I'm not certain a clone gets a chakra bump from other clones. Only the real Naruto gains the energy, probably.

He's never fought someone as fast as Naruto, and his reflexes and AoE aren't on a level to make up the gap.

Still, he hasn't held clones in reserve since after Pain. Either he can hold the Sage form for at least long enough to be viable now, or he can't direct energy from a clone to another clone..
^ Well the fact that he can enter it fairly quickly now negates having to have clones getting it for him. Besides, does he really have a limit for sage mode now? i thought the problem with his indefinite SM was Kurama sapping his chakra. Since they are buddy-buddy now, this shouldn't be a problem right?

No, the reason he couldn't go indefinite sage is because nature chakra can only be gathered when stationary. Kurama only indirectly was a problem, in that he couldn't merge with stationary sage frogs to do it for him.
Sage chakra runs out when used, and fairly fast, unless you replenish it, period. Training probably helps one get into it fast and maybe hold it a bit longer, but it's the same basic equation.

After Pain, he didn't get into much in the way of fights until he got Full-Chakra mode, which really does have little time limit to speak of.
