It's funny they should name gravity dark energy, considering dark matter is a very weak, unstable form of matter. Then again gravity is one of the weaker forces in our universe, it just happens to be more abudant hense why it governs us..

Not stronger the darkside, just easier..

it's just a theory, like dark matter. we get a lot of far out stuff from messing with equations and from the cosmological constant, which is basically a number einstein pulled out of his ass to make his theories work.
