The Dominator also cowered when he thought he was facing DS in GLC#9. It was really just a Durlan impersonating 'Seid but it at least showed the fear he commands.

Just want to correct something Draco said in his first post. Doubt it's been corrected so far.
the writer of this scene and Doomsday's creator has stated that he had in mind that Darkseid would defeat Doomsday 15/20 when he made this scene:

Joe Cassey said that Superman during OWAW could could beat Galactus on his own and would have beaten Imperiex too. He then went on to say that Superman has not limits whatsoever and is unbeatable.
It's just writers trying to justify PIS.
Darkseid owns Doomsday every single time. Hell, Doomsday got taken out in one page in IC7.
How about you ask the same from Jack Kirby.......
A. He's dead.
B. Kirby's idea for Darkseid died with him. DS now is not what Kirby wanted him to be and while that's tragic, it doesn't matter. Because DC > Kirby. Whatever DC wants to do with Darkseid is more canon than what Kirby wanted to do with Darkseid.

According to Joe Casey that was because Superman hesitated seeing Doomsday reduced to a skeleton. If he hadn’t hesitated he would have taken out Imperiex on his own right there. This is according to Joe Casey, I don’t agree with him at all. He said it himself that OWAW Superman could beat Superman.

Jurgens flatly states he sees DS as more an intellignet, shceming villain than a cosmic force of destruction an dpower. In his mind, Doomsday should win a pure physical brawl.
Besides, Darkseid wasn't the only cosmic power Doomsday beat. He took out a Qan Guardian which, as far as I know, is damn impressive as well

Because Darkseid has many showing that put him above the likes of Superman and other top tier characters. He’s beaten characters stronger than Doomsday before but one low showing of Doomsday beating Darkseid and all of sudden everyone’s to believe Doomsday > Darkseid? I don’t think so.
Jurgens saying Doomsday can beat Darkseid holds as much weight as Joe Casey saying Superman can beat Galactus and Imperiex. It’s just one writers opinion that contradicts the characters other showings.

The OE is not technology. It's a one of Darkseid's powers, which I'm sure you already know. He could still randomly blast Doomsday and transmute his into a stone or just erase him from existence. Nowhere did RC say that Darkseid couldn't use any of his other powers.
