The interesting thing about it is that most unbelievers do. I've asked my friends the same question. It doesn't make any sense that they would deny that he is the son of God and then commence to celebrate his birth (and death) every year.
Same thing goes for Halloween, very few people actually care about what the day is actually celebrating.

So to all those who havent heard of the likes of Mithra and celebration of winter solistice maybe if you took your head out of your ass and looked into things you might not been so dazzled by these so called "new" things. Move out of that little cirlcle of ignorance you surrounds yourselves with and meet the real world for a change.

1 timothy 2:5-6 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.Jesus did fulfilled the prophesies: read Isaiah 53, Psalm 22 and 69.
Read (Isaiah 11:12),(Ezekiel 37:26 - 27),(Micah 4:3),(Ezekiel 37:24), (Isaiah 66:23)
All of these criteria are best stated in the book of Ezekiel Chapter 37 verses 24-28:
And David my servant shall be king over them; and they shall all have one shepherd. they shall also follow My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Yaakov my servant, in which your fathers have dwelt and they shall dwell there, they and their children, and their children's children forever; and my servant David shall be their prince forever. Moreover, I will make a covenant of peace with them, it shall be an everlasting covenant with them, which I will give them; and I will multiply them and I will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. And my tabernacle shall be with them: and I will be their G-d and they will be my people. Then the nations shall know that I am the L-rd who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary will be in the midst of them forevermore.
He never fulfilled any of these things plus Ezekiel was suppose to announce his coming, where was he?
That's because it never was fulfilled. It was the church for control, that put together the "Jesus being the messiah" thing to try and bring the Jews into the fold under the church along with the pagans............The Jews didn't buy it though.
Jesus wasn't even considered divine until around 324AD at a council.

The way I see it is; either Jesus is not God, or Jesus is God and so are you and me and everyone else, including my cat and the tree out in front of the house.
Damn. I'm god? Cool!
*goes and becomes emperor the world* 😛
Anyways I assume your referring to the Buddist belief that um... oh I can't remember. We studied world religions in school, but that was last year.

* Council of Nicaea... yes, the Catholics did that though... not the REAL Christians... 😉
* the disciples proved that Christ is a God...
"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God , and eternal life."
I John 5:20
* Christ is a God... He is the Only Begotten Son of the Living God... so He is a God... 😉
