What competition did the Ot have?

When these movies came out in their respective years, what other summer movies, or any movie in 77, 80, and 83, were they competing with?

One of them I belive was Carrie

Star Wars: Close Encounters, Annie Hall, Saturday Night Fever, The Spy Who Loved Me, Eraserhead

Empire: Superman II, The Shining, Airplane!, Raging Bull, Friday the 13th, Elephant Man, Ordinary People

Jedi: Flashdance, Octopussy, Staying Alive, Risky Business, Scarface, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, Terms of Endearment

Dude, Airplane so totally owns ESB. Was Saturday Night Fever a football movie?

errrr... a dance movie with John Travolta 😑

Wow, some decent competition actually.

Don't forget Alien! for Episode IV i believe, only a week before or after if i remember right

Common, what's better? "I am your father" or "And don't call me surley!"
