Captain Marvel Vol. 3 #4/#5
Genis battles Drax The Destroyer. This not only shows feats of speed, durability and energy output but also shows the Nega Bands allow strength augmentation far beyond 15 tons. The fight ends in a Double KO.

I just got done reading NT 18 and felt I had to post this stuff. I think some of this stuff puts Genis comfortably beyond the herald level of superheros.

New Thunderbolts #18
-Genis can exist in the past, present, and future of multiple realities at the same time. Here he is accidently opening up portals to various timelines.

This guy is a powerhouse for sure. ✅

I forgot to mention something. In the last set of scans, Genis revived himself from death by drawing from the essence of every version of himself in each universe/timeline so he could very well be immortal. 😉

YES
GENIS IS MY SECOND FAVORITE SUPERHERO TIED WITH CAPTAIN ATOM SECOND ONLY TO NIGHTCRAWLER

Genis is gone for now anyway checckout Tbolts 100!

i read it. i was very upset to see the way he died. it was out of character and rather halfassed. Fabain dude u ruined genis durin his run of the Tbolts

Nice. 😮‍💨

Here are a large number of scans from another site's Genis respect thread. All credit goes to Thorion for collecting, organizing, and posting the scans as well as the descriptions of the scans themselves. Here is a direct link to his thread:
http://www.herochat.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=104994

The scans are divided up into 5 sections corresponding to the 5 important phases of his life:
1.Legacy
2.Captain Marvel
3.Insane
4.Post-Insane
5.Photon

1.LEGACY

Let's start with his battle against Monica Rambeau aka Photon aka Current Pulsar who at the time had the name - Captain Marvel. Under the Controller's control, she suckers Genis. That's when we learn that an anti-matter field is erected around Genis whenever he's in danger. However, Monica still manages to defeat him by suffocating him with the energy inside his field. After Genis awakens, however, he takes on and straight up defeats Captain Marvel/Photon. Not only that, but he also takes the Avengers for a lil' bit.

Of course, after that, Genis takes down the Controller.

Page 1

In one of Genis' first appearances, he takes on the Silver Surfer. Obviously, he doesn't stand a chance, but the impressive thing is that he actually manages to hurt the Surfer with blasts and punches.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5
Page 6
Page 7
Page 8

And to show how even during his Legacy years, his formidability was increasing gradually, here's a later fight against the Surfer where Genis manages to take him on straight up until the herald traps him in his own board.

VS Adam X, using some nice tactics, too (transporting them to the Negative Zone).

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3

Durability showing. Accidentially sets off an explosion that destroys the whole space station.

Page 1
Page 2

This one is very cool. Blackwing, a Shiar assassin of a cult called the Crystal Claws attacks Genis. He has to kill Genis to free his sister's soul (who died because of Genis on that space station). Genis defeats Blackwing via a superb tactic. Simply by trapping in a space aperture between here and the Negative Zone. I'd reckon not many without the power of teleportation could escape such an attack by Genis. Then he frees Blackwing and lets Blackwing kill him. Blackwing's sister's soul was free and Genis simply takes out the "lethal" hilt, revealing the wound was in a stasis field inside his body that he had created. Pretty nifty, no?

Here's another example of Genis using wits over power. He takes on the extremely powerful Godstalker. First, he uses his Nega Bands to track energy signatures, the highest energy output and lets them transport him there. There, he faces the Godstalker. Power vs power, Genis was absolutely nothing against the Godstalker, but he uses his smarts and speed to get what he wants and keep Godstalker from interfering. See for yourself.

2.CAPTAIN MARVEL (3 parts)

Still inexperienced and not all that powerful, Genis is now often guided by Rick Jones and his newly gained Cosmic Awareness.
First, let's go over the basics of Genis' early use of his Cosmic Awareness.

It's pretty useful in battle. Genis can use it to predict his opponents' moves.

Page 1

It can act as a danger sense and save him from all kinds of disruptions and cosmic happenings.

Page 1

Or he can simply gain information from and individual and see his memories just by touching him/her/it.

Page 1

Here's Genis getting all the necessary information from a corpse.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5
Page 6

This is one of my favorites and it shows exactly what kind of huge power the Cosmic Awarness really is.
The Magus, the evil side of Adam Warlock had escaped his prison in the Soul World. He was left as a spirit, albeit a powerful one (possessed all kinds of psychic powers). He was draining hundreds of beings of their souls/lifeforces. Genis fights him, but finds hard to stop one who doesn't have a physical form. The Magus' goal is to get Genis' Cosmic Awarenes for him to become whole again. So Genis gives the Magus what he wants. Magus can't handle the Cosmic Awarness because it's basically the same as trying to drain the heart of the universe, unmeasurable and impossible. Genis then (appearantly, depends on your interpretation) transforms Magus into energy and sends him into space.

Genis uses some nice tactics (creating illusions, manipualting all kinds of energies, using speed, etc.) VS Maha Yogi aka Warlock aka Demonspawn aka Merlin. I believe I have an early appeareance of him as Merlin in a Thor comic and Thor compared his power to that of Loki's, unless I'm mistaken.

In a glimpse of his future, it is shown that Genis' power will grow significantly (as per Magus' comments in the scans below and as you may see in the following sections of this respect thread) and Genis also fights and does very well against the Magus (who is very powerful as seen in the Odyssey arc later on).

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3

Meet Fredd. He is Genis' evil twin clone future self from an alternate dimension. He is basically a more powerful evil Genis (but Fredd himself says that Genis will reach these power levels in time). He manipulates all kinds of energies and energy waves, resists and defeats Psycho-Man, easily owns Genis and he once came close to defeating the might of the Avengers and the Fantastic Four combined.

3.INSANE GENIS (2 parts)

And I repeat, When Genis went insane, he didn't receive any external powerup. He was just... insane. No mental blocks, no holding back TM. He was more formidable because the control (actually, lack of control) was taken to another level.

First, you have an introduction to his powerset, then incredible examples of Cosmic Awareness (Genis sensing stuff throughout space) and speed (flying from planet to planet) etc. up until he goes snap. It was too much for him. Genis goes crazy.

4.POST-INSANITY

5.PHOTON

Genis died, formed a cocoon around himself and reconstructed himself from cellular protoplasm. Details on resurrecting himself in the very last fight of the thread.

Page 1

Calling himself Photon, Genis returns and takes care of an atomic bomb by opening a rift and redirecting all of the energy there.

Page 1

His Cosmic Awareness was at a level where he was basically a universal, omniversal telepath.

Page 1

Eh, some teleportation...

Page 1

While defeating Batroc and his Brigade is no real feat, Genis does it by simply inverting their molecules through intraspace.

Page 1

The Purple Man (thanks to the Overmind among other things) was at such a level where he was opening lots of rifts in space and whispering to everyone, controlling everyone etc. Genis tracks him "voice" through the spatial rifts and everything. Basically, a Cosmic Awareness showing and shows how powerful the Purple Man had become.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3

And despite all that power, this is what Genis does to the Purple Man. Another good example of what it means to have Cosmic Awareness.

Page 1
Page 2

Genis takes on the new Hyperion and also breaks down Dr. Spectrum's constructs after accessing the Power Prism's wavelengths etc.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5

New Thunderbolts vs Avengers. Genis takes on the Sentry one on one and gets the better of him, doing stunts like transporting them to the Microverse, shunting away Sentry's energy, locking arms with him and also helps defeat Iron Man and Captain America among other things.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5
Page 6
Page 7
Page 8
Page 9

Genis had trouble tuning his Cosmic Awareness, had trouble differentiating the past, the present and the future because he can exist in all 3 simultaneously and was creating lots of spatial rifts, holes in time and space.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3

Just by touching him, Songbird sees Genis' memories, his past and future where he actually destroys the frickin' UNIVERSE.

Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5

Baron Zemo (with 2 Moonstones that make him extremely power as evidenced in the scans below) takes on Genis. Lots of stuff here, including spatial rifts, punches, blasts, trapping people in time, explanations how Genis reconstructed himself from cellular protoplasm. As per Songbird's words, Zemo was barely holding his own. Not only that, but Zemo says that they have to kill Genis because he is bound to destroy the universe in all possible timelines, there's no changing that. So, with the help of Blackout among others, the Zemo vs Genis battle culminates in Genis' death. The universe is saved from the one who would destroy it. I'd say that's a pretty bad way to go for one who was trying to live up to his father's legacy (Mar-Vell who was a true legendary intergalactic hero), but I for one am hoping that very soon, Genis will return...

I love the way Rick Jones describes what Genis is doing, saying it makes the singing in the rain scene from A Clockwork Orange look like a third grade something or other.
