Wasn't it ever said he could stop it from glowing though? As for Sam I think he may possibly still have satan inside him...why else would the light go out? Although I like to think maybe he doesn't 😬

Well, it could be the presence of an angel that brought him back.

I think it was stated in the episode where they try to find God in heaven.

As for the season finale, it should have end this episode. The narration from Chuck was a nice way to end the show now the season finale. Them beating Lucifer and Michael as the end-game boss was nice too. I feel like anything after this is just trying to suck the milk out of an empty cow.

How would an angel bring back Sam or even why would they bring him back? The only angel there to bring him back was Cas and I'm pretty he'd be like 'oh btw dean, Sams back, just thought I'd let you know.'

I don't remember it being stated the medalion or whatever it is couldn't track God if God didn't want to be found, God could just easily vanish away from them if he thought they were near. 😬

I dunno if they beat Lucifer, like I said the ending makes me have my doubts

IMO its not a problem. God is omnipotent, if he doesn't want a medalian to glow it won't. Or he could just creat an illusion or some other such nonsense.

Agreed.
Overall I thought it was a good episode.

It just doesn't make any sense how he could get out without God's help. But assuming Michael didn't get out then I bet Lucifer is going to let Sam be running the body hiding from even Sam until Dean trusts Sam again. So he can get the rings or something to let Michael out of the hole.

The rings are still around, Dean picked them up so who knows...

Dean probably would've hidden them somewhere, or gave them to Bobby to hide.

Just finished watching. I suppose I was right with Bobby biting it. lol

In all seriousness, I thought it was a pretty decent finale. Not the best but like others have said, it might have been due to the show being extended another season thus altering some plot points.

Liked:
- "Road So Far" intros for finales are still awesome.
- Chuck appearance
- "Ass Butt!"
- The silent montage of Sam and Dean.

Disliked:
- No appearance of God. I really had a feeling that Sam was wearing the pendant unbeknownst to Satan. Would have been epic if it started glowing.
- Confusing last scene.

What do you guys expect from the next season?

I expect non-retarded answers

I dunno about you but after this episode it seemed pretty obvious to me that Chuck was God. He knew things that the angels wouldn't bother to show him like the history of the impala and how it would all end before it ended which none of the angels would have known about and thus a prophet couldn't see. also his knowing smile at the end and when he disappears is also a tell.

If it turns out that Chuck is God, I'll find that nothing short of a f*cking insult.

Why?

I believe it's far more likely that Chuck was always a prophet. The Bible mentions that Elijah -- after completing his role as a prophet -- ascended to Heaven. The Gospel had run its course. His life's purpose was fulfilled and as a reward, he ascended.

Sounds better than him being God

There is also the fact that when he was called upon by Dean Chuck talked about Mistress Magda. As in Mary Magdalene. That was probably a wink in. Also people who said how he was acting the same when sam and dean wasn't around but he also had to fool the angels that were watching over him too. Plus Eric Kripke said God would show up and there isn't anyone else it could possibly be. Besides Supernatural has never portrayed its characters according to the conventional views.

When Kali said she's been around longer than God, and the angels in Hammer of the Gods episode, does that mean God didn't create the universe in Supernatural? Or was she just saying that because they are older religions?

I'm pretty sure they've been around before God. It was also hinted that Death was older than God. I also like how Death mentions that Earth is just one planet in a very young galaxy. Does that confirm aliens? : D

I honestly think Death was just grand-standing. i doubt he'd actually be able to reap god.

The finale was all right. I strongly despised the use of God as the ultimate deus machina, though:

"Hey, guys! Remember how the season has set it up that I'm an absent father with no stake in the coming conflict and how resurrecting Castiel and putting your asses on a plane was the last act of charity from me? Psyche!. The world really wasn't in any danger; I'm giving you back Castiel and Bobby. Suckers! Mwahahahahahahaha!!1!"

I love Castiel and Bobby, but they should have remained dead or not died at all.

But I wanna hear castiel say ass butt in season 6
