Unless the name is overly girly, or has some form of girl in the name, the default position is set to male. I'm just that unobservant. Also note that I thought nvrbeenwthagirl, or whatever his name is, was a girl because my attention always skipped off the "nvr" and landed back on "girl." The skin sigs kind of mix things up too.
Also possible: There might of been a guy with a similar looking name and I merged you with him.
