Hi long pig, on Wiki it says Strange is an "accomplished martial artist". Just how accomplished is he? Is he on the same level as Cat and Shang Chi? Or does he rely more on his magic? And where did he get his training?

Wong trained him in martial arts.

He was recently spanked by DOC in the pages of the Fantasic Four title "4".
Issue # 27.

The FF are being screwed with by Nicholas Scratch and the Salem's Seven.
Scratch ressurects SUMA GORATH and Reed Richards sends DIABLO to recruit STRANGE.

Doctor Strange defeats SHUMA GORATH in 1-on-1 battle (sadly off-panel) in Stonehenge while DIABLO & the FF defeat Nicholas Scratch.

IF you want to get "out of canon" DOC also defeated SHUMA GORATH in a UK Spider-Man comic.

It's a comic that is produced by UK imprint of Marvel (Panini) and it's an original story.

DOC is one of a bunch of heroes who are fighting SHUMA GORATH.

They're not doing so well, until DOC casts a spell that banishes Shuma.
Shuma grabs DOC and tries to pull him into the void as well, but Spider-Man swings over and rescues him.

So, that's 1 IN-CANON and 1 OUT of CANON recent appearance by SGHUMA GORATH wherein DOC soundly defeats him.

He received his Martial Arts training during his time of study with the Ancient One in Tibet.
Teaching the mind and body to work in harmony is one of the basic precepts of mysticism, and it has been stated numerous times that he studied Mystic and Martial arts at the same time.

He DOES (at least shown on 2 occasions) have sparring matches with WONG to help him stay in shape and proficient in his mastery of Martial Arts, since Wong is better than he is at it.

I don't believe DOC is as good as Shang Chi, but he can hold his own.

WONG is supposed to be excellent.
Possibly as good as Chang Chi.

Strange has millions of martial arts feats to the point it's ridiculous.

Strange is at least as good as Shang Chi. He's beaten Michael Korvac in h2h before.

Here, Strange beats Shuma once more.

I also like how Strange says "I never used to collapes, now it seems that's all I do.". I take that as a slap in the current writer's faces for making him always weak or being k.o'd for no reason.

This time with no prep. And remember, Shuma>>>>Galactus.

Dr. Strange nonchalantly reversing time in a park to fix damage that was done to it. Nothing but a gesture was required.

Don't know if this counts but: Strange says missing one word of his spells could turn the world into jelly.

Strange flys so fast that he creates a vortex, pulls the fire into the air and snuffs it.

Here, Strange creates SENTIENT life. He basically transmuted raw energy into a living breathing thinking being.
