That's not what emo means.
That's why nobody on this forum outside of those with musical intellect should use the term.

am i the only one that noticed she was j/k (look at the smiley she posted) 😕
Done this so many times before...but fine.
Emo stems from the term emotive hardcore. Bands such as Minor Threat, Fugazi etc. Based on the type of music, nostalgic lyrical content etc. It then got shortened to emocore and people who love to label things they don't know, started calling OTHER bands emocore. Which then became emo. Most of the "emo" bands you see aren't emo bands at all.
Let's not have a 10th "What is emo?" discussion please.

I was kidding 😛So then it wouldn't be proper to label people as emo?
I know you were 😉, just saying.
Not really. It's not really possible for someone to be "emo". Just like you can't be "rock" or "metal". You can dress how you think you should dress for a fan of that scene, which is stupid. No trenchcoat wearing, long haired guy is any more a metal fan than me. Image means nothing. I think Jimmy Eat World are excellent, one of the original emo bands.
The "emo guys" that certain girls here refer to, aren't emo guys. They're hot topic trendsheep who like bands that aren't emo, but think they are.
