Superman has tactile telekinesis, Sentry does not,this is why Superman can lift things that would normally buckle under their own weight, Sentry does not possess this power, so people should not compare the Shield helicarrier feat to Superman lifting a building, it may be that he could have stopped the hellicarrier but given the fact that Sentry was already close to the ground if he pushed harder he would have punched right through it and failed to slow it down, which was his goal in the first place. Sentry has a good chance at beating Thanos here i won't say whether or not he can beat him, but there may come a day that these two may collide. Just don't be surprised by the outcome.
