Snakes On a Plane

Street Fighter was on TV a few weeks ago. It was OK nothing special. I don't see any correlation to Snakes on a Plane though unless you are talking about your opinion that it was also an average or underaverage to crap movie

Nah. Maybe the Mortal Kombat movie, which kicked ass.

jesus wept...

from a reviewer on imdb

Everyone erupted with the famous line. As soon as Jackson said "Enough is enough," everyone stood up, waited for the rest of the line and deafeningly applauded for about ten seconds.

what the ****? are people that stupid?

How pathetic. You got sucked into it and don't want to admit it, so you try to play it up by saying how much you like it and how you're going again, as if that's some kind of credible accolade. The fact is, Snakes began as an internet meme, that's how it was marketed. You desperately saying I was sucked into Mickey's company marketing ploy is just a last ditch attempt at redeeming your argument.

I went to see Pirates 2 after seeing the first one by pure chance and liking it. I didn't go on opening weekend, I didn't even know the movie existed and definitely wouldn't have paid to see it in a cinema based on trailers alone. The reason I will see the third is because I have two movies of enjoyment to go by. You have? Yes, you have nothing besides a shitload of internet and media hype, which you have succumbed to. So before you go accusing me of being victim of marketing hype, I suggest YOU stop making assumptions.

I had a movie to go by when I was buying my ticket to Pirates 2, my own opinion of an actual existing movie. Sure, Pirates 2 had hype, but that's because it was the much-anticipated sequel to a sleeper hit movie. Why? Because everyone loved the first, even those who caught it late enough to miss the hype. Snakes on a Plane just had media hype, which you got suckered into.

If anything, this movie is nothing more than an exercise in marketing using the internet. It's happening all over the world.

Arctic Monkeys, Lily Allen etc. They broke sales records off nothing but internet hype. Movies are inevitably going to attempt the same, and that's what this is.

I don't need details you still went to see it. Did someone force you to go? No you weren't, so you were suckered to see the sequel. Read the response I gave to Von Doom. I'm not denying that there is a marketing ploy. But to be suckered into go see it? That's just silly. If anything the people going to see this movie just have a curiosity to see what happens. I don't understand your persistance on saying you're not going to go see it. Yet, you're here discussing the film. Don't go see it. As mention before the universe is not going to change if you don't go see it.

i have no doubt that the same people who like this film are the same people who thought the street fighter movie was good

No, I was bored by Jean Claude Van Dam in Street Fighter. However, If you would have said something like this:

"i have no doubt that the same people who like this film are the same people who thought the Toxic Avenger movie was good"

Absolutely... YES! B-movies are silly and fun to watch.

b) fun to watch

i could've just said "okaaay"

but i really wanted to get the context of it across...and the guy from terminator 2 had about the best example of what you saying mortal kombat "kicked ass" made me think

Come one, Mortal Kombat was fun, it had a four armed giant puppet.

Compared to every other video game movie, it was an oscar winner.

Ok, I saw this movie last night with my family. It was honestly better than I expected in terms of comedy; I thought David Koechner was a great comic relief, especially his "Thai hooker" comment. That shit literally made me choke on my soda. There were a bunch of dumb teenagers in the front row who stood and applauded Jackson's famous "muthaf*ckin" line. I seriously wanted to go down there and b*tch slap them, ey. 😐

So overall, I though this flick was enjoyable but not good.

But seriously, these snakes are less believable than Anaconda.

Yeah tell me about it, homes. Anaconda had bad acting (afterall it did star J.Lo and Ice Cube) but, I liked the suspenceful amience that was created by the dark surrounding jungle, the elusive nature of the creatures, and by fleeting glances. The anacondas looked nothing like the real thing and even had viper eyes as opposed to the goofy puppydog eyes of anacondas, but at least they did their job by killing all the annoying characters.

Indeed, without doubt one of my personal favorites.

Also, on a trivia note: Brandon Lee was actually cast as Johnny Cage before the unfortunate events that came to pass on the set of The Crow.

Pirates in the Caribbean isn't just pirates sailing around the caribbean. Snakes on a Plane is exactly that, snakes inhabiting a plane. How curious can you be? "I wonder what they do on the plane...I better pay to find out."? It just screams marketing toolery.
