Hey, guys - great idea for a thread 🙂 ! Glad to see that you're not all becoming complacent 'round here and merely posting in existing threads {and letting OTHERS create new ones} ...
I would just like to point out something, yerss, about the first picture that you posted {on page 1}. This screen capture is from "TSWLM", as I'm sure you know. In THIS film, the actor that you have highlighted at the forefront of the image, Robert Brown, was not playing M {as your caption suggests}, but was instead playing a character called Admiral Hargreaves; Bernard Lee was the actor that brought life to M for this film. I can see why you might've gotten confused, though, since Robert Brown did indeed LATER go on to play M, beginning with "Octopussy", until "LTK" {though not, as I said, in this film}.
It has therefore been suggested by Bond fans {though none of this has ever been properly explained on screen} that, within the lore of the Bond universe, the character of Admiral Hargreaves himself became M following the retirement/death of Bernard Lee's M, Admiral Sir Miles Messervey. In other words, Bond fans believe that the charcter in "TSWLM" is the SAME character seen in "Octopussy" through "LTK" {i.e. not just the same ACTOR playing 2 different parts}.
