Ray Davies - The Tourist E.P.
RAY DAVIES IS `THE TOURIST`
New EP Released September 26th in the U.K.
Ray releases a brand new E.P entitled ‘The Tourist’ on V2 Records, September 26th.
‘The Tourist’ is the first taste from his eagerly anticipated first ever solo studio album ‘Other People’s Lives‘, which is due for release early next year following a major UK tour this autumn.
The highly collectible 4-track EP is a veritable Ray Davies masterclass in songwriting and features:
• The Tourist – Recorded in London, February 2003, this is one of many stand-out songs from his forthcoming solo LP ‘Other People’s Lives’. Combining Davies’ distinctively emotive vocals wrapped around astutely observed lyrics, it purrs addictively with his heady, unmistakable style.
• Yours Truly, Confused N10 – The first of the three bonus tracks, this was originally recorded with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra in 2002.
• London Song – The original ‘London Song’ appeared on the Storyteller collection of live & recorded acoustic tracks and spoken dialogue – an edited version of his storyteller show. This version has been remixed especially for this EP.
• Storyteller - First recorded in 1998 and released as part of his ‘Storyteller’ collection alongside ‘London Song’.
The lead track will be initially released as download only, but the entire EP will also be available on CD at recordstore.co.uk and sold at the tour venues from September 25.
The download is available this week - for those in the UK - from: iTunes, Virgin Digital & HMV and all other good download services.
Opening in York on September 25th, Ray Davies will play 17 dates – including a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on September 28th – before closing in Oxford on October 16th. See Tour section for full details.
