nazi music

can people please tell me if bands like Mayhem and the like are even slightly nazi-esque, there was a article in the paper blaming music for anothere crime, i'm going to write a letter but i need some proof before i write anything

Mayhem are classified as national socialist black metal. The only real "Nazi" music still alive today would be racist Oi, which really isn't that big a scene anyway. Back to Mayhem, they are/were more Pagan than anything.

i figured bands like Mayhem would be more Satanic than anything, and sure to most a Satanist is prolly worse than a Nazi, but when i read up on true Satanists, they're pretty doclie people, not off bashing gays, killing animals and burning churches like people make them out to be.

TRUE Satanists, ie, members of the Church of Satan, are typically okay. Their "Ten Commandments" actually involve not killing and raping people. However, the band Mayhem aren't what you would call "true" Satanists, since if I remember correctly there is only one remaining original member. All the others either killed each other or are in jail for killing each other... And in really horrible ways too.

There are Nazi-esque bands, but none that are known outside of racist/Nazi-esque circles. I don't think.

Basically, what people need to remember is that music has however much power as you give it. The fact that people commit violent crimes shouldn't be blamed on music%u2014it should be blamed on the fact that there are dipshits out there who misinterpret it, or think it's a bright idea to do what song lyrics say...

Don't think that the Church of Satan really qualifies as "true" Satanists.. seeing that they don't actually believe in Satan.

I always pictured Nazi music to be shit like Skrewdriver or however you spell it.
