alright, im not saying u cant respond, just dont say anything insulting like u did today. I mean dude i think im being very nice and very fair here but now ur just being very hard ta deal with even now that im calmed down.
If you were half as knowledgeable about comics as you try to push on everyone, you'd know that.
alright so we have a deal? hopefully we do
but just so u know man ive been collecting comics for 12 years straight now, but i never really buy any back issues only the new stuff that comes out so i really only have knowledge of stuff from the mid 80's on so gimme a break if im wrong a few times every here and there.

With that being said, I suppose I can agree to not throw insults...without just cause, that is. We all go off the deep end and take comics very seriously...sometimes more seriously than for our own good.
Superman is overrated 70% of the time, I know he is the first superhero and very popular but he is not that damn great as for ability. Superman is an alien with the ability to absorb yellow sunlight to give him his super powers. Really look at it , superman defeating lower ranking skyfather in Darkseid is bullsh**.
Darkseid is far more powerful than superman, a well written darkseid makes superman his ***** palin and simple, Darkseid could have killed superman 10x over by now but Dc won't allow it. That's their baby even Captain Marvel during the 1940's proven to be superman equal or his superior, strength of hercules (demi-god), power of zeus (skyfather god), speed of mercury (god), Courage of achillies, Wisdom of Solomon. That's the perfect super hero you can get, since DC bought out whiz comics the down graded Captain Marvel putting him below Superman which to me is BS to the highes order.
Overrated:
Superman post & pre-crisis
Deathstroke
Superman Prime
Superman 1 million
zantanna
8th day juggernaut
molecule man
doomsday
5th demison imp
Aquaman
Underrated:
Black Panther
Eternals
Thor
Gladiator
Captain Marvel(shazam)
savage hulk
Thor
Orion
Black bolt
Xavier
Exodus
Funniest... thing... evah. You know, legends say that they value intelligence in England... What a magical place it must be.
There's alot of overrated guys, but Surfer? Him and Superman arepossibly the only 2 guys who have a real excuse for most of their bad showings: Pacifist, sorry. Seriously. He doesn't transmute guys cuz he doesn't want to. Doom stole his powers and what happened? People got turned into random stuff all over the place.
In a straight up fight, I'm pretty sure even the good Doctor admitted that Surfer is the best of the Defenders. No one touches Strange with an adequate amount of prep, but that's beside the point.
Lets see... HKH is overrated. I know he's in a whole nother league, but some crazy kids thought he could beat Batman. Not even JP beats Batman all of the time. JP
Thanos is both overrated and underrated, as is Wolverine. In both cases, they are underrated because people want to show how vastly overrated they are, and so show them at their weakest. Both are overrated at times, but it now goes both ways.
Daredevil definitely is underrated. Most semi-popular characters with actual good powers and skills. Drizzt Do'Urden is MASSIVELY underrated. 😉
On a side note, I'd definitely like to make a "Master Dan vs. the Mean Streets: Armando and JP Showdown" thread, but I'm thinking getting it clsoed would be the least of my problems.
Hmm.
I'm going to be a little more serious now. For the overrated characters, I'd still include Batman. I think he's an obvious one.
There's also Captain America ... again, kind of obvious, except he seems to be more overrated by some writers than by fans! When the subject of Captain America comes up anymore, I just shrug my shoulders, shake my head sadly, and say, "Cap wins." I don't care if it's Thanos or Dr. Doom or Galactus ... whatever. Cap wins. He just does. It doesn't have to make sense.
(Okay, yes, I'm exaggerating. But not much. 😉)
Drizzt ... well, yeah. Overrated, IMO. But for crying out loud, he's not even a comic book character anyway! 😆 So let's move on, okay? 😉
Deathstroke is really strange. He can hit Flash, but he can't hit Batgirl. I think the writers can't quite decide how powerful they want him to be. 😛 Overrated? Underrated? Hard to say.
Elektra is very underrated. People get so out-of-control with their underestimation of her that they're actually declaring Batgirl could beat her inside of two seconds. Now I like Cass, but Elektra can do things like screw with S.H.I.E.L.D., go toe-to-toe with Wolverine, and take Punisher's rifle out of his hands before he realizes she's doing it, so let's slow down and rethink this. 😉
Well, speaking of Punisher, he's also underrated ... though at least not here as much as other places I've seen. I was actually a little surprised by that.
But Daredevil still seems to get shafted. His feats in the comics are simply insane, and he's had good showings against Captain-freaking-America, who in turn apparently trumps Thor somehow, and still almost nobody believes DD has a chance against Batman.
It must be something to do with the interpretations of the character as seen by each individual writer that works on this vast ocean of comics, each writer will try to stay true to the characters, but they are also trying to tell a story, sometimes that story will involve complete and utter imposssabilities (The Bat Kick anyone?)
And it is through these inconsistencies that people draw their own conclusions based on what they see.... as I have stated before many times, no matter what fictional character you pick, if it's been written about by more than one writer, it will fall into this hole. Some come out of it far better than they should, some will come out of it far worse.
