Interracial Dating/Relationships

Wow good topic.

I myself am mixed due to my grandparents being in a interracial marriage. Both my mom and dad are in interracial relationships.

Though the first time I saw something negative come to it, is what happened to a freind of mine. My freind is black and the girl that he was hooked up with was Asian. This was a big problem with her parents because they wanted her to be with an asian man OR a causasian man. African American and Hispanic was OUT as far as they were concerned. It was sad listening to my freind telling me this.

I understand that completely.

Yeah and it SUCKS 100%

There are things to be proud of by inheriting things like a mixed heritage/creed believe it or not.

Yeah, one of which being finding out how dumb people are quite early on.

I'm not mixed but people often think I am.

Its always interesting watching the friends and family say comments because they are not used to "cultures" mixing, or race. So they try to ignore the party involved, kind of outcast them in a sense.

Then the baby comes along, and even the ones who hated the idea of "brown" or "yellow" children, are often entranced by the beauty of the child, and its like a spell comes over them.

Can fit in with most people 🙂

You would want to do that anyways, I'd hope lol.

I myself was thinking of multiple cultures.

lol, that too

I understand but you know something I noticed?...when I see and hear that an individual is half Causasian and half Asain they are considered either White,Asian or mixed. Though if one is half African American and half Causasian, they are considered African American only. I know and have seen this happen since it has happened to me as well and it's not right I think.

Its quite the opposite for me. Im half filipino and caucasian, and my parents dont ever want me to date a filo or aussie. They have their reasons and I understand their point of view. but i dont look at a persons race, and i couldnt care less what or who they have in mind, i'm gonna date whoever i want!

I know, ANYTHING mixed with black is black. Period.

I've never seen any blatantly mixed people that where half white, and called white though.

It would have to be very subtle.

But anyone who is phenotypically white is simply called 'white' these days. The distinction with Africans is that their physical traits are very strong, so are always clearly visible.

You know that leads me to Hollywood. Look at Keanu Reeves...I believe he is half white/hawian (not sure though) but his race hardly ever comes up and many consider him to be white. As well Bruce Lee's son Brandon is half white/asian and it seems when he was never been seen as Asian or white but "mixed".

Though thats not the case with people like Halle Berry and Lenny Kravitz both are half white/black but like we already said they are considered Black..not mixed and certainly NOT white.

That's how everyone should be but people now days are soooo shallow and narrow minded that they don't see that but influenced by up bringing of the family....

I'm Indian and my parents would probably kill me if I dated anyone other who's not Indian. Too bad for me that Indian guys are complete dumbasses.

Yea they are subtle appearances so I can understand that.

pardon my ignorance, but Halle is half white?

That confirms what i was saying about beauty, and it gives the racists a kick in the pants too. 🙂

Halle Berry's mother taught her to think of herself as 'black' simply because everyone would perceive her that way outside all-AfricanAmerican areas. The African Americans in her neighbourhood however believed her to be better than them through having lighter skin and straighter hair.

Keanu Reeves' dad was of Chinese and Hawaian descent and I think his mother was called English, but his mongoloid traits are very clearly apparent.

Didn't you just say you would never date a Hindu person a couple pages back? 😕

lol, yeah she did.

I'm Hindu and pretty much, most hindus here ( if not all) are indian. Lol my parents would have a fit if I had a boyfriend of another race. But personally I've been attrected to men of alllllllll races.

I have no problems with interracial reltionships. But I most likely wont get married to someoe of a different race, or even religion. I'm very serious about my religion, and I do not want to risk a marriage due to religious differences.

Phew thank goodness I finally found a good hindu boy thats I like. LOL
