look dont touch 馃檮
I've read about strippers who are uncomfortable with lap-dancing, but have problems finding jobs where they can avoid it. so what if guys now need to actually touch their wives and girlfriends instead of strippers, if it means better work conditions for the dancers.

Thats unfair, dont you think?
Stripping is purely for the purpose of making men part with their money for the purpose of getting close to incredibly hot women...
Nobody is saying dancers shouldn't have decent conditions, but seriously... If a girl wants to be a stripper then she should be willing to give a lap dance...

as I've understood it, lap dance hasn't always been part of stripping. stripping is, quite literally, taking of your clothes ( in front of others.) physical contact for money isn't part of it. instead, when it comes to that it places it in a greysh zone between stripping and prostitution. it also makes the dancers more vulnerable to situations they can't control and to having their personal sphere trespassed (if it can be put like that.)

I do understand what you're saying... but do you think the business of stripping would be as successful without lapdancing?
If they don't want to lapdance, then they should take a pay cut imo...

stripping is just that: stripping. lap dance is, IMO, not really a part of that business, so it shouldn't be used to make it more succesfull.
anyways, I don't think strip tease will ever go out of fashion, lap dance or not, it'll probably still be a thriving business. maybe not AS thriving but honestly that wouldn't make me cry myself to sleep at night.
I don't think strip clubs which advertises with lap dance want dancers who won't do it, so a pay cut's not even considered.
So is that the fault of the business or the girl who's not willing to work in those establishments? If a business is going to make more money by offering lapdances, and the vast majority of their employess are willing, then why should the business make an exception for those few who arent? If a girl doesnt want to lapdance, and finds a job, the last thing she should expect is to earn the same money as a dancer who is willing to give lapdances imo...
and i honestly think (sorry i didnt say this in my last post), that lapdancing is alot further from prostitution than some would believe...

Regaurdless of what it "used" to be. Stripping now, almost always, includes lap dances.
Again, if the girl doesn't like it, she shouldn't be stripping, there are other options for her.
