The PT is based on something brilliant that's why it is still better then most movies as most hollywood movies are just plain sucky.. But the PT had some very weak points and I think Lucas should have taken some more time to make them up. Not saying they aren't great though, just saying they could have been better.

The PT does not suck, the only thing wrong with it is that the acting get's a little wooden at some points, so what? Are you trying to say that the OT's acting is better?
Luke/Mark Hammil: (after his village was destroyed) I want to come with you to Alderaan. There's nothing for me here now. I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like my father.
This speech gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it, it was so poorly delivered (don't get me wrong, Hammil did clean up his act), that it makes me want to take him by the scruff of his scrawny neck and throttle him to death.
You can learn the ways of my fist fool!
i admit the only problem the PT had was 1 or 2 cring worthy lines (ie: "so love has blinded you"😉 but overall i think it kicks the PT to death. if the PT was released first everyone will be: ah the sequels suck. 1,2 and 3 were the originals therefore they rule. only because they came first people think there the best.
I think the prequels should have been gore, massacre, pure horror.
Kids don't want to see some clumsy frog-humanoid become a politician and nobody cares about this droid idea getting copied and nobody wants to see that Chewbacca is Yoda's sister. So Lucas was stupid to aim it at little children.
Oh yeah, and I want porn! PORN! PORN!!! Killer cool..
Dudes when did I say the acting - the whole PT just sucks - it lacks everything that makes the OT so brilliant - of course we shuldn't be suprised about this - following a mostly brilliant original trilogy with a bunch of toy commercials pretending to be a trilogy aint gonna be brilliant! but they couldnt have been better! So so so much better!

I've asked this question before on this site - how many people here were even alive when the original trilogy came out? How many saw them in the theatres when first released, at an age old enough to understand? All the people who haven't don't REALLY know what it was like; can't turn back the clock. And yes, as a younger person, I was following plot and story, no problem. If Star Wars were nothing more than a lot of effects and action with little story, like so many Jerry Bruckheimer or Joel Silver produced films, they would have been left in the dustbin of memory long ago. People stay with this saga for a reason.

Why is the OT just so damn good..Why is the PT just a horrible dissapointment...
Why is Han solo so cool...
How much should we hate geroge for the PT...
Why do we all buy the over-priced trilogy box-stes...
Why do we stand for Jar Jar Binks...
These are some questions that I myself have pondered upon many a year, five minutes actually, yet their questions which should be answered!
They are both cool - but as Solo gets more screentime - and honestly does have more to his character than Boba - and about the age thing...
I wasn't old enough to watch the OT when it came out at the cinema and i've seen the PT at the cinema and even I can make the conclusion that the OT is great and the PT seems like a half-arsed attempt to cash in on a franchise (it may not have started like that - but thats what came out of it). Man, I was about 10 when TPM came out and I hated it - the droids, the gungans, the special affects and Darth Maul... even I could bloody see the pile of crap that lies in the midst of all that bad-scripting and flashy effects....

Why do you think? Because it's Star Wars, the same reason why the PT is just as if not more brilliant! After watching all the Star Wars movies do you know what I've discovered? That one movie could never exist without the other (not even episode IV).
If you ever have the time, watch the movies chronologically (I know Episode III is not in the movies anymore so you'll have to wait for the DVD), the movies turn into one BIG 12 hour movie, it's really rewarding and you'll realize how much work GL has put into each and every one.
Another thing is that when I asked my Dad (who isn't a big fan of Star Wars) which was his favourite he said that you can't pick one movie out of the whole stack, it's one story, Star Wars is funny that way.
It doesn't fit in the status quoe of 'normal' movies.
i agree it is one movie and it should be viewed that way we can all have our fav eps and what not but it is one story it is so much better watching them all together and u will appricate the ones that u dislike more then if u watch them seprate

sleep1sleep1Go pound some sand already, you waster...
For me, the great thing about these movies, particularly episode four, and in some cases eps four to six, was the used future feel. what really captured me was the feeling that this was a place that was REAL, and some guys had just gone out and photographed it. it was like the movies merely reported on a REAL fantastic world out there. that was what REALLY grabbed me. the used future. right down to the driving gloves of han solo.
