Only thing our votes count for is the popular vote. The electoral college decides who will be elected as president. Each state has a certain number of votes in the electoral college (equal to the number of members of the House and Senate that state has), and they usually vote the way the popular vote goes in that state. However, it's quite flawed. For one, it's an all-or-nothing system that way. It's also quite unfair to the bigger states -- the number of votes each state has is the number of members of the House and Senate it has, as I said. Because of this, every state has at least three votes. But because of this, it's easy for someone to win just by getting a bunch of small states (ie states with small populations). There are quite a few states with a large number of votes -- California, New York, Florida, Illinois, Texas, and Pennsylvania have the most, each having over 20 votes. But there are 30 states with under 10 votes.
Personally I think the electoral college should be done away with and us allowed to directly elect our president, or at least updated so that the votes from each state can be split according to how the voting goes.

I agree that our system is messed up. I don't trust my government, and I certainly don't like our president.
Ya see this is part of my problem... people with no brains vote for a corrupt government thinking theres good because there too lazy to learn anything about world events... So my county gets screwed over cause little johnny no brains ticked a "Bush vote" because he was too stupid to realise that "sand people" didn't attack America cause they felt like it... America screwed them over first... and then continued to do them over and over again...
Go check your facts about world events... learn how your stupidity effects overs on a daily basis... and I don't mean the ones that G.Bush spews about how god told him in a dream its "ok" to kill 10,000 civilians to end the "axis of poorly equipped evil"...
Really dinosaurs like yourself should of gone with the stone ages... Theres no excuse to be so poorly educated in a system that gives you every incentive to succeed..

You are being really vague here (I hazard to guess because you once again don't know what you are talking about). Be specific. What has Bush done? How has he made the economy good? How has he instilled morals and values? how has he made you a 'reverend nation'?
At some point in your life you will have to back up what you say. I doubt it will be now as you have a pattern of cowardice, but at some point you will.
