Neji's eyes darkened. His byakugan tightened. *Kunai!* If she were to throw multiple weapons, Kaiten would be sufficient, but if it was only one, his Byakugan would help him simply catch it. In a brief moment of power, Neji felt the girls chakra surge like it had before. That strange chakra burned like fire, yet it gave off a strange chill. What was this woman hiding? Or..concealing? Prepared for the attack, Neji slid the sleeve of his robe up over his forearm, revealing the bandaged limb. In the back of his mind, Neji prepared his divination, imagining the glowing Yin-Yang on the ground surround himself and the attacker.
The kunai however, stuck into the snowy ground in between Neji's feet. He guffawed in shock. What was she trying to do? Daring to take his blank lavender eyes off of the girl, Neji looked down. The kunai in between his snow sandals was stranger than most. It wasn't a normal kunai that most Konoha ninja had, but had an elegant shape to it. He took a mental note of it, planning to research different ninja weapons from strange clans and villages. To his side, Neji heard his younger cousin Hinata gasp in shock. The wind blew through Neji's hair, whistling in his ears. He had had many strange encounters with different shinobi in the past, but this was strange. First Hinata brings home a new friend with strange abilities, then this woman here attempts to break into his home, and now she had given up her weapons, hoping to avoid a fight. And there was always that strange chakra that almost blinded Neji's byakugan....
He looked back up at the girl. His own mysterious eyes meeting hers once again. Using his own talents, Neji searched for anything in the girls eyes. Some hint or clue as to what she wanted. He could easily read most people, as they wear their emotions and thoughts on their sleeves. But when Neji searched this girl, it was like looking at a blank wall. Her pale face and eyes gave away nothing as a strand of her dark hair shrouded her eyes. "Why can't I read her?" Neji thought to himself, starting to become irritated. He had never had this problem before.
Then he picked up one thought. Although not from her eyes. The girl in front of the two Hyuga's spread her arms wide. Neji's eyes constricted again. The girl not only had given up what was her only visible weapon, but was now revealing all of the vital points of the human body. Even a normal ninja could possibly kill her by hitting her in the specific points, but for a member of the Hyuga clan - the most prestigious in all of Konohagakure, it was practically suicide. Neji flashedback to when he was informed of the intruder that had tried to kidnap Hinata. His uncle Hiashi had killed the man in one hit, hitting a specific chakra point. That was all thanks to their kekkei genkai - the bloodline limit.
Her body relaxed, and she once again stood in a normal position. She sighed almost as if tired or perhaps annoyed, the warm air leaving her body and evaporating quickly. She spoke again. She said she owned no other weapons, and was rapidly tiring. She also said she wanted to accept the invitation from Hinata. *So Hinata invited this one too then?* Neji thought while lifting an eyebrow quickly to Hinata. Listening to the girl more, Neji felt as if this girl was as untrusting of himself as he was of her. Neji smiled closing his eyes. She must know of his skills as the Hyuga branch member who most strongly inherited the byakugan.
So all she wanted was some food? Tsk, perhaps just a beggar, Neji thought coldly. It was true then - the girl really didn't want a fight, and she obviously wanted to leave as soon as possible. Her voice was calm and sweet, almost an act. Yet her eyes still gave away no emotion. She simply seemed alone, poor and tired. Yet Neji knew better. His uncanny ability to read people - although not working completely on this woman - was picking up something. There was verbal irony in the womans words. And if the woman was so starved and tired...why was her chakra off the charts?
Neji folded his arms, his taped fingers curling over his forearm and gripping tightly. If this woman was going to hide something from him, and from Hinata, he wouldn't tolerate her. His brow bent low in distaste. He closed his eyes, and spoke dismissively.
"So all you want is food and drink and then you'll be off on your merry way?" Neji began his psycological mind-games he had become so accustomed to. "Pfft. Then why is it that you didn't come along with Hinata before?" His eyes opened, and they bore into the girls own optics. "You were the second sob-story Hinata had run into today, and what? You said, 'I'll meet up with you later'? That alone may be believable, yet when you finally arrive here, you decide instead of asking for Hinata, you jump onto the roof and conceal yourself?" His voice was becoming harsher. He had to show his assertiveness. "Not to mention this murderous intent that has been leaking from you since you arrived here. Putting all of this together, I realize a dropout like yourself has ulterior motives."
He turned to Hinata. "If you must feed this girl to please yourself, then do it." He turned back to Miharu. "Then you can be on your 'merry way." He began to walk away from them.
