The only reply that the girl made was, "Smart boy." She watched every little motion he did. Her eyes recorded how his body graced the air like liquid. Interesting... He proved himself in movement as an incredible shinobi. Someone doesn't judge a ninja by their weapons, or with stealth - For even an infant can play hide and go seek and throw kunai around like a maniac - No, the true way to tell a shinobi's skill was from the average movement. Take walking for example. A normal ninja, one not as experienced as most, would swing their legs carelessly. Walking just to get from point A to point B. A true shinboi walks by feeling the ground under them and moving with the waves of the earth. You could tell this, by how carefully they set their feet, knowing that an attack could come from any direction, even beneath them. Thus, they feel the waves of the earth. If one is out of place or unusual, it will stick out and thus reveal to the ninja danger. This shinobi moved just like that, expecting an attack from her, while trying to remain calm. It made her want to laugh. How could this ninja be so different from the others? Perhaps, in the near future, she may be able to toy with his abilities. This would be a very good fight, she was certain of that.
Turning back to Hinata, she ignored the rest of the other ninja's moves, it wouldn't be fun to spoil suprises for herself. She'd have to wait to inspect him later. Perhaps when he fell he would be an interesting toy. She'd bring him along, he'd sell well in vilages, a slave. Flexing out her fingers, she remembered gloves. Her hands were frost bitten and throbbed as her blood tried in vain to heat them. She stopped and, despite how cold she was getting, scooped up some snow. She approached Hinata with a calm face, revealing nothing of evil or good intention. She was a snake, coiled up so no one could see it, but the mind told them to be wary of where they walked. But, unlike the snake, a foreign emotion shimmered in her brown optics. Friendship. Perhaps this Hinata girl wasn't so bad. Perhaps, like Miharu, she was just misunderstood.
The snow in her hand melted, but stayed in her palm as water. Then, ice began to sculpt it. Slowly the cold water twisted and turned. She didn't take her eyes off of Hinata to watch the transformation. The top formed into a rounded shape, and branching from that came a sharpened point. Moving downwards, the ice slowly began to form a more rounded cylinder. Sprouting from there, came two double triangular shapes. Farther down, the ice rose from her hand, not completely of course, for two small points remained. Then, branching from those smaller points, four sharp claw-like structures were formed. From the rear of the larger orb, sprouted a thick fan. Not a complete fan, however, just a tail. Slowly, from the head down, small details were carved into the ice. Eyes were formed, the nostrils formed, the triangle parted, feathers sprouted, and the two little legs rose in motion.
"Here." She placed the bird in Hinata's hand. "The carving won't melt. It'll be cold, yes, but it'll never melt. Only shatter..." Her eyes saddened slightly. Even something so firm and strong as ice, will break apart under the right conditions. Just like your heart...
She shook her head. Slowly snapping out of her daze. She didn't want to be close to these people. They were going to leave her anyways. And not on their own either. They would all fall, and if she got attached... Perhaps she could save Hinata, and just her. Yes, then she'd be safe! But would she forgive her? Of course not. Hinata would probably miss her friends and family terribly, and she could not guarentee that she'd be safe. It was better if she fell with them all. Not standing alone, the only one breathing in the village hidden in the leaves. She wouldn't get attached. No. But she still had to play the role as friendly stranger. So friendly she would be.
