This midichloridian idea is quite interesting...

If something can be lost, it can be gained aswell!

So if we suppose that all people have some midichlorodians in their blood, the jedi should filter it from the blood people donate. And then give it to padawans. And if midichloridians are "animals", then their numbers would eventually grow larger and larger.

2 midis -> 4 midis -> 8 midis -> 16 midis ->32 midis ->64 midis ->128 midis ->256 midis -> 512 midis.... and the list goes on.

Im sure that the force sensitivity is more related to the chemical structure of subjects blood. Certain types of blood have inherently more nutrients for midichloridians.

lol . Too scientific.

But they needed a way to measure force.

Lucas just had to break out a crap way of saying that Anakin was powerful.

Well, I never bashed the idea.
Even in the original trilogy, we get the idea that just because all living things may be bound by the Force, not everyone has the capability to access it with enough training. Han, he had no feeling for the Force. And we saw early in the EU, through Heir To The Empire, Leia had only a small capability with the Force compared with Luke. They just didn't answer the question why, until TPM.
People went really over the edge with the midichorlians: "What, now Lucas says the Force is some blood disease? That's Bulls**t! "And yadayada...just chill already.
It IS bullshit.

It's BECAUSE we don't know why the Force chooses people that makes it so interesting. It's a mystery, a total f*ckin mystery that even the Jedi can't solve. And we liked it that way, it made the Force appear even more ethereal.

But like Tru Slice said, GL needed a way to prove Anakin, the future Vader, is all powerful. What better way than to create a number count on something, where he exceeds even Yoda.

The Midi's can have all the reason and logic behind them, but since all of SW is not real, than we don't base the Force on logic, but interest.

Sometimes you can't win, no matter what you do.
After seeing AOTC for the first time, my friend felt kind of regretful that the mystery behind Boba Fett had been taken away, and now we know what the inside of the SLAVE 1 looks like - like he didn't want to know.
I just shake my head at what people will pick on.

It's the sign of a true fan--picking something to death until the story's dead. Thank God I'm not responsible for this.

So ya see? The mystery behind things is what's liked. take it away and, PFFT! what's the point anymore?

Damn! What am I gonna do for the rest of my life now? 😂
Star Wars is over!

Star Wars is over!

Then you can leave blasphemer!

I also, liked the mystery behind everything, it was so cool. The Boba think kind of made me mad too.

No, I won't leave! I won't give up...it was a moment of weakness! 😄
Star Wars only leaves my cold, dead hands!

Yup.. That was what Lucas meant with the whole SW saga.
But he didn't really convinced anybody. Just look in the versus forum.

well.... star wars is in fact over but i heard that there was a tv series coming on and stuff but i didnt know when it was coming out i also heard all the movies were being remastered and re-re-released except for the pt series that would be rereleased and I thought it may have been in 3D ??? idk i read it in entertainment magazine a long time ago

Ugh! They just gotta ruin the story even further by making a TV show.

I hate that stupid midichlorian idea. It makes the Force seem like a physical entity and not the mystical aura it should be.

he's right the whole idea was a stopgap for lucas if i were him i would've written the story to where Qui-gon would've sensed the force in anikin
