This is just a guess, but I'd assume Longshot has never really lost a fight. Villians get the shaft in this category, because the nature of comics means very few will even approach a .500 winning percentage (Juggernaut maybe)...but any hero has a better record than nearly any villian. The halo effect that DC has on Superman means he rarely loses fights, even to groups of villians. He has to be up there.
But since most comics end in unresolved fights or stalemates, most heroes records would look something like 80-45-178 (wins-losses-ties).

Training session, eh? So that's like being undefeated in the Danger Room? Like I said, his record's good because he doesn't lose fights...he just survives most, but a few he wins because of his luck. If it was training, and so there was little-to-no chance of actual death, who says LS's luck even needed to kick in?
that response to longshot is kind of funny. first, the thread doesn't say who has a PERFECT record, so even were we willing to indulge the fantasy that a training session 'loss' has anything REMOTELY in common with a bloodlust fight, that would STILL be only one loss! and longshot has a LOT more than just 'luck'. he is enormously skilled, and superquick. he's a great pick for thios thread.
ss doesn't lose very often either, nor classic juggs. most big name heroes have lost quite a few to keep books interesting. this is almost impossible to answer, but it is interesting to consider.

Longshot vs. Presence: Presence decides to destroy Longshot with an uber, "kill any single thing it hits" ray. The ray gets halfway to Earth, is sucked through a recently opened wormhole, and is somehow transported to Heaven, where it strikes and destroys the Presence. Longshot wins.
It's not that he's unbeatable, it's that he's walking PIS. So he doesn't really need the potential to kill something, it just needs the potential to destroy itself, and Longshot's presence automatically makes that the most likely thing to happen (or at least here it does). He's unarguable on a forum, and therefore unbeatable.
The best win record HAS to be Captain America. Or at least it's probably the least likely win record. Wolverine's up there for "WTF?" wins too.
Superman can't be the best, cuz he died. Dying is an auto-50 losses. Alright Blue Beetle.
Batman typically loses, then preps the shit out of his opponent for a win. Or just defies the evil plots of some costumed retard with a fetish for deathtraps.
The ultimate win record thus far: Probably Scoobless.
