wow, this soubds like a good idea and a hugely bad idea.I understand having mutants become so large in nubmer really makes you think "hey, you cant push mutants around there's millions of them and they're way powerful"
but damn...this does not look good.

“Chamber and Jubilee, obviously, as they’re on the covers,” Jenkins said. “Some of the older X-Men are in it from time to time – Cyclops is in it, so is Angel, the Blob, and Stacy X. We’ve also got loads of completely new ones who’ve never been seen. As I’m looking at it, about 4% of the world’s population has mutant abilities, or at least latent mutancy, so we’ve got a lot of characters to play with and explore.”eek...there are some names you can think about adding to the chopping block. If we're going by the rumours that Generation M will feature newly powerless mutants. With Stacy X it's like who cares? Now she is just a regular whore.
If Blob lost his powers would he be skinny? Does Cyclops lose his powers in Deadly Genesis? Angel out? That's two out of five originals.

Everyone is on the cover but Iceman. *sniff*
*blam* And with Jean "dead" all the original X-men are all gone. . . 🙁

i feel you may be right on this one.....and i don't want it to be right. i was really hoping they'd come back to the x-books to stay at least for a while.
They've already done the whole taking away Wolverines Powers thing at least 3 times. I wouldn't mind him taking lesser roles in the MU, but I like him enough to have him stay. Just keep him in one friggin series though.
Also, a definite on the who keeps their powers is:
X-23, the New Mutants, and the Hellions. (Post HOM covers)
if mutants make up 4% of the world's population (as said in a recent interview, i believe,) and there are billions of people in the world, then there are at least 20 million mutants out there. if we suggest that that 4% was pre-cassandra nova, and now that 16 million mutants are gone, there are at least 4 million left. and a '96 percent reduction' in mutants would leave us with, at least, sixteen thousand. either somebody in the higher ups got their numbers screwed, or this 198 concept can't possibly be the only 198 mutants left... mathematically... if i'm not mistaken...

They don't have the acountants handling the books.
"With their childhood ended and school out forever, Kyle goes even further to give fans more of a glimpse of what the future holds for the New X-Men. Kyle promises “classic X-villains, huge stakes, big action, real consequences, true love, lots of laughs, and a ton of blood… If you love the X-Men, then this is the book for you! Nuff said.”
There you have it. From an uncannyxmen.net interview with the new creative team on the New X-men. No more Jr. X-men school at Xavier's.
So if you liked New Mutants like David or Windancer, or most of the original cast really...You can almost kiss them goodbye.
These might be the last students left with powers. Haha, it's funny how all the Hellions made it. Well, except for the guy with the lamest mutant power I had ever seen. Tag. (He tags people psionically and then people run away from whoever he tags.)
he can also make people run TO whoever he tags. it's very basic mind control, but it's been applied a bunch of creative ways.
also, as for what it says on her tombstone, do you really think that that becomes law simply because it's on-panel? it's a comment about how akin to a "phoenix," the legend not the force, she is. it's hardly saying "wait a few months, true believer! she'll be back!"
sage got written out in the worst of ways... i mean, come on. sunspot suddenly grows up and takes over a branch of x-corporation, then goes past that and starts his own HFC? and sage decides to guide him along the path? ugh, horrible plot device.
and, personally, i'm ecstatic the GLA/X are still around. that last issue of the mini series, completely worth the extra three bucks debt. "i'm homo supreme!" and ashley in emma's costume... ahhhh...
186 in 6 million's about 1 in 32000, which is about a .003% chance. but, since sage is actually a character whose been in the x-pages for some time, she had some fans and whatnot, and (i think) i heard rumors of her showing up in new excalibur... probably about 50% odds.
