What in the Heck was Ra from Stargate?

Ive been thinking about this question for about 5-7 years now maybe more! I know from the show that they said he was Go'uld, but what i dont understand, is why did he have some wierd alien form? The Go'uld are snake like symbiotes. He was something else entirely! He kind of looked like and older Asgard from SG-1! If someone has and answer or a theory please post.

He was still a Goa'uld. The series changed a lot of stuff from the movie.

He never was a Goa'uld in the movie. Ra was just your old fashion alien life form on the verge of death. Somehow or other he was able to merge into the boy in the movie in order to continue living. He's probably one of those alien beings that live a long time but not forever....the series changed all that.

starwars No one really knows who he is, all I know is that he was a system lord. Anubis is a system lord and a ancient so it doesn't really matter when you are powerful.
