I think people over-associate lightsaber colors. We've been trianed to think of red as Sith and I think thats wrong. What effing difference does the color matter.
Why the hell would Anakin get a new saber in the 20 minutes between when he became Sith (which didn't make sense in the first place) and when he attacked the Temple? He wouldn't.
Besides...when Luke gets Anakin's saber in ANH, its blue (then slightly aqua, then blue again). Thus, for continuity.
Besides...blue vs. blue is brother agaisnt brother. It puts Kenobi and skywalker and both a morally equal and a visually equal footing. Its more of a symbol of their conjoined past.
I agree with all of those points Alliance.
The whole red v.s. blue thing was from when we were still guessing how ROTS would be.
Most people assumed that Anakin would get his new name, a new saber from Palps, and wear dark black robes. He would become a bad-ass sith.
Instead, he keeps his Dark brown jedi cloak and trousers, with a black shirt, and his own saber.
It just wasn't what fans thought would happen, and so this video is to indulge that.
As for saber colors, that comes from Lucas. (and the movies, too.)
Bad guys have red, good guys have blue or green. (with SLJ being the obvious exception, but his was a special request.)
In the film when palps named him, he could have presented him with a (ahem..) "sith saber" and told him not use "a Jedi's weapon" like he talks to Luke in ROTJ.
Anakin, still having some good in him and being torn, could have taken the new saber, but also kept the old one.
Maybe he pulls it out in the duel with Obi-wan, or maybe it just falls from his belt at the end. Either way, Obi keeps it to remember who Anakin was.

Not to mention that Anakin's wardrobe is already noticeably darker than most other jedi's (though not dark enough imo).
Having a red lightsaber is nothing but a symbol, hence all the art with Anakin and a red saber. However, people need to realize that it is a just a symbol and they need to see past that.
