FIREFLY
Having heard much about the Firefly television show over the past few years, I decided to finally watch it back in December. Watched the entire season and the film in one sitting. Impressed with the setting, I have decided to initiate a roleplaying game set in the Firefly 'verse. New ship, new crew, new adventures.
The plot is focused on a starship known as Gan Ying, a decommissioned Alliance transport that has been heavily modified by its owner for the transportation of less-than-legal goods. Its owner is a man only known as Kelly, the self-styled Captain of the Gan Ying. Captain Kelly has a reputation for being efficient and working for whomever so long as he doesn't have to do anything truly vulgar. Only thing is that nobody knows a whole lot about him except for maybe Dutch, the cook.
The players of the roleplaying game can choose to either be paid members of Captain Kelly's crew or passengers going along for the ride. Characters will tend to specialize in one aspect of skills for the purpose of filling in the needed roles aboard Kelly's starship- smugglers, soldiers, mechanics, medics, companions, priests, and drifters. All will have their specialties, and all will have experience with firearms. Guns play a very large role in Firefly; thankfully Gan Ying has a well-stocked armory (though that may change as things happen).
Gameplay will follow Gan Ying and its crew on a series of missions, starting off on the border world of Persephone (as seen in the show) as the ship takes passengers and accepts a new job. Between missions, roleplaying will continue onboard the ship as it moves between worlds (since hyperdrives do not exist in the Firefly 'verse).
In addition to roles on the ship, characters will be fleshed out by their players through developing backgrounds and, most importantly, stating which side they fought on (or were sympathetic to) during the Unification War, the Alliance or the Browncoats.
If anyone is interested, please let me know!

I'll join provided you can help explain it to me some more, like what are to goals and beliefs of the browncoats and Alliance for starters.
Originally posted by Captain REXIt's been quite a long time since I've tried my hand at PbP games, but the prospect of a Firefly game is more than enough to snag my interest.

Ill join I like Firefly
Well,it's 90 years after Voyager and Star Fleet has fallen to the Klingons and Romulans.A crew of trainees survive and they steal a ship called the Prosperity.
You spend your time avoiding Romulans and Klingons, and occasionally explore space while trying to bring about the end of the new evil empire.
It runs on storylines,I'll kick it off with the basic one giving the introductions, and you can PM me ideas for stories and we'll run them one after the other.
