this is a tough choice between crisis core: final fantasy Vll, metal gear solid 3, and metal gear solid 4, all of them had amazingly powerful endings, but im going to have to go with mgs4 just because i like the story with big boss so much and the ending in the cemetary was just awesome, followed extremely closely by cc:ffVll

Truthfully I did not like the "benefits" to becoming Sheogorath. I wanted more.

lygallag calls you a god
Spoiler:without conflicting with the games canon and messing up the immersive rpg feel.

Jk2 was a good one. Loved the ot trilogy music combined with some immersive lightsaber combat.
Kotor 2 had a nice endgame.
Oblivion itself had a meh-ish, i thought the game could have had a way longer cutscene. Thought TSI was way more creative and brilliant.
Legend of zelda oot (great for its time, overrated, of course, but still definitely great.)
Portal is probably my favorite ending. loved the song and stuff.

Really? Just out of curiosity, but what did you like about KOTOR 2's ending? I found nothing really satisfying about it personally. KOTOR 1's endings, however, I really enjoyed.

MGS, is less confusing, more contrived in my opinion.Yes, I understand them, doesn't mean I don't find their "meaning" irrelevant and ultimately stupid considerring the fact I've been slashing people to death with a ninja sword for the past half an hour, blowing up tanks, twatting robots in the face with rockets and fighting a man made of bees for the rest of that time. To suddenly have all this Japanese philosophical meanderring dialogue every five minutes is just plain laughable.
Reloading a clip as you get ready to off the 50th guard that stumbles across your wrath of rage? Get ready for some codec with your fiance about commitment! Just beat the shit out of a ninja man with tenacle arms that fire rockets, on the top of a ship thats just crashed it's way though a city? Get ready to have a half hour lecture about censorship and freedom of speech.
Seriously, I'm all for intelligence in games, but come on. I hope MGS4 waters down the transparent sixth form philosophy crap. Less is more.
im guessing you were disappointed? 😐
qft though.
Closed Fist ending in Jade Empire. Your character (mine was Lu the Prodigy) becomes the God Emperor of the Jade Imperium.
He simulataneously screws over both the angelic goddess and the treacherous prince who manipulated you since you were a child, thus becoming the supreme author of his own fate.
Doesn't get more satisfying.
NWN 2. Becuase having your entire party killed in a cutscene is oh so much fun. 😐
btw, thats the good ending.
