Uhh dude, The Jungle is almost a hundred years old. Things have changed. Read fast food nation for a modern version. You also eat bugs and spiders in your sleep. When you leave your mouth open....But if you go through life worring about what might happen, you'll always be paranoid and never have any fun. Fast food is the worst. But whatever. I'm not gonna stop eating. Its like Vegitarians, I'm not gonna stop mean, and you arn't gonna not kill something by not eating meat.

if you want to really turn your stomach about food look up all most anything about 'Rendering plants' the whole meat process is really pretty messed up.
for example:
most large citys send most or all of their euthanized cats and dogs to rendering plants. (as well as diseased live stock)which then remove their proteins (just grinding them into pulp and boiling the fat off) ,no part of a animal is wasted not even the blood. (they even throw in flea collars)
then this 'protien' is sold back to the community.there fore some of our pets our then rendered and put back into animal feed..some of our pets food aswell..there has been reports of pets dying from digesting the drugs used to euthanize other animals.
we are also eating this as well because this 'protien' is also feed to live stock which feed us...it a pretty messed thing to think about.

Boy this thread is a fountain of misinformation. It's as though people have taken the odd story and tried to amke everyone believe that these are the rules as opposed to the exceptions.
I'll agree that I would never touch a hotdog or chicken nugget. I also am aware that the gov't has acceptable levels of rat feces and other undesirable items that can be contained in various processed foods.
However, at least around here, if a restaurant reserved bread, they would lose their liscense. It would also be easy to tell, cut up a loaf of bread, take away a few pieces, does it still look untouched to you?
As for euthanized cats and dogs going to rendering plants, I have never heard of that, it must be a regional thing. Here when a cat or dog is euthanized you have the choice of getting the body back so that you may dispose of it yourself, or it is immediatley creamated.
Some of the facts in this thread are true, many are half true, and quite a few are heresay or propaganda. I also believe most of this thread is also a kneejerk reaction to poorly researched 'facts'.

I worked in a restaraunt when I was 16 and I never saw any of the things being posted here......extra wine thrown away, bread thrown away, dogs and cats.......ha yeah right.......anyway fear factor thread🙂 If you want to show concern and educate people don't use the be afriad of food use the .......OMG your as big as a house how much food did you consume piece🙂
I also worked in a food establishment, bread is never kept for use for someone else. In the kitchen they churn out more and more bread every hour to fill the need. The older bread is thrown out. Leave bread out for an hour and it gets hard to the touch, leave it in a warmer too long, it gets hard to the touch. The physics in Twister's claim do not match up. The bread would go bad, especially after a day. 🙄
I work at a grocery store right now, and I can tell you that bread is not sitting out long enough for roaches or rats to even have a chance at getting at it. We keep our store clean and have never had a problem with pests. The bread on the lower shelf gets sold in a day and we get another shipment of bread from the distributors, it sells fast and it's constantly checked.
You cannot recycle wine bud. There are tell tale signs when wine is not freshly opened, mostly it's the taste of the wine. Is it bubbly? It better damn well be.
The other stuff, yeah it's pretty much true and it's commom knowledge. Like what was already said. As long as it tastes good then I am fine with it. I rarely get sick and have never had food poisoning.
If you think this stuff is bad, go to different countries where they have different tastes. ie Scotland, with their Haggis. France with their Es Cargo, etc. etc. so on and so forth.

Haggis is basically the Scot's hotdog, that is what I'm pointing out.
Escargots (I musta spelled it wrong before. 😂 ) are snails, which are on the same level as the "worms in the pork", all I'm pointing out is that we all have our weird food that would be considered unsanitary by other people.
Please don't read into my post as if I were saying bad things about other cultures cuisine's, I'm just making comparisons.
