I disagree. In the books, both harry and hermione were ugly ducklings. I thought they were destined for each other.
When I read the books, I tended to ignore their written appearances (and age, frankly), and I just pretended that they were better looking. When the movies came out, I thought the casting for Ron didn't make sense.
I'm glad that you weren't in charge of the movies, because you would have made the entire cast hideous. Additionally, Hermonie is a bombshell, period. No comparison needed.
