If we AND the environment double at the same time, nothing would change between them. Take it like this, if you see two squares, one twice as big as the other. They both increase by 2*. The bigger one is still twice as big. The relation doesn't change and the laws between them doesn't change because they both had the same change. Then again, we are different to the earth in so many ways.
