I was gonna Marine force Recon, man. I would probably have been in the shit.I was hoping to get into being a mechanic, working on choppers. At the time I had worked a bit for my dad as a mechanic and had a flair for it. When they took us for the testing, there was a guy with a side panel up on a chopper, and he let me take a peek inside. COOOOOOLLLLL shit man. ✅
Originally posted by RölandI was in really good shape then, I had just finished three months of first offenders boot camp (I had gotten a DWI and the judge gave me the option of going there), and from what the DI's told me, it was pretty much the same as marine boot camp.
My cousin is in Recon, said it was one of the toughest things he has ever gotten into. Said the Indoc was terrible.

Originally posted by RölandI might not have made it then. I remember, we had our "Pyle", a guy who couldnt do ANYTHING right. Naturally, when he fvcked up, WE fvcked up. He couldnt even do a single pull up.
But boot camp shape and Recon Indoc shape are two different things from what my cousin has told me and what I've read. 😛
Fact was I could only do like three, due to having my right shoulder trashed in an accidnet when I was 17. They gave him a hard time, but not me, and I didnt think that was fair.
Once, the DI told the platoon leader he was gonna walk outside, and to "sort Pyle out." Well, they cornered him and started pushing him around. Me and a few others defended him, and, when our guide started talking shit about him not being not able to do pull ups, I said "Hey, I can do only three, thats not fair."
They were gonna code red his ass 😆

Reminds me of this idiot kid at MEPS, we were all told to eat breakfast because of getting our blood taken and the fact that we weren't able to eat anything except lunch at MEPS. Kid didn't eat breakfast, got his blood taken early and he passed out in front of everybody.
