haha, I asked a woman in my College Class that last week,
because back when the AA started, it was supposed to be very discreet, because being an Alcoholic wasn't as acceptable as it is now, so it was kept anonymous, no one would give their names or anything. And people who weren't members would rarely know when and where a meeting took place.
