The black hole thing might in fact come true, sadly.
Now, about my Matrix. If we could put someone in a drug-induced sleep state, and apply the correct electrical signals to their brain to make the brain basically dream whatever we're making it dream, they would be in a Matrix of sorts. However, this might take a while to perfect.

I must say that the human species (do note, Mr. Meister, human is a species, not a race) has done more damage to the planet than anything else could ever do, save for some kind of catastrophic natural disaster. We need to do something about ourselves, though I don't think mass suicide is the answer.
