Yes, but calling the music rap is stupid. You don't call Oasis a sing-band do you?
No, because hip-hop/rap is all about the rapping, really. Since the music itself is almost always sampled.

Gonna go buy cigs, back in a bit.

You might as well look at my location. Don't see what that has to do with this discussion though. Yes, but calling the music rap is stupid. You don't call Oasis a sing-band do you?

cause 'rap' is really as american as apple pie when you get right down to it and i dont see how a dood from/in the Netherlands can act like such an expert on something purely 'made in america'

but thats just me

You don't get hiphop then. Granted, lyrics and delivery are more important than in other genres, but definitely not all-important as you say.

I'd call the Rolling Stones 'experts' at Rock'N'Roll, and they were English, while Rock'N'Roll was American.

Doesn't really matter where you're from as long as you do the research and have the knowledge, etc.

america rules!

I probably don't "get" it, but I listen to it, and I enjoy it.

I'm not the one who invented it. Public Enemy frequently called their music rap music, even in their lyrics. "Rap is not afraid of you", etc.

What a ****ing idiot. There are Americans who claim (and actually have degrees etc.) to be experts on Egyptian history, aren't there? There are Chinese people who claim to be experts on Renaissance art, aren't there?

I've been studying music for about 10 years now, I think I'm fairly knowledgeable about hiphop. Obviously more than you, at least.

buy me some cigs too

feet are cold

and then metal is technically english made[Black Sabbath]
but somewhat taken over/perfected[however you wanna look at it] by americans [Metallica/Slipknot/etc]

Pretty ludicrous and uneducated opinion though, and I'm free to state what I think.

But feel free to go on and discriminate me, which is basically what you're doing.
