So get this. Today I was hired by a local high school to DJ their crummy school dance. I thought it would be cool, you know? Show these kids some scratching skills, thump up the electronica, ya know? So, I borrowed my bud's turntables, brought my entire LP and vinyl collection along with my other DJ friend's. Had close to 300 records in my car, then, when I started scratching and playing a beat, the principal of the high school walks up to me and tells me to things:
"Please?? Can you play some music? You are a musician!!"
I was like, WHAT THE HELL HAVE I BEEN DOING THIS WHOLE TIME?!
And the second thing he asked me was:
"Are you drinking???"
I said no, but the kids gave me some awesome Mojitos to drink, ahaha! I win!
Finally, a teacher came up to me and cleared what had been asked, they just wanted me to sit there and play dance songs and slow dance songs.....
I got paid 26 bucks.... F*ck that shit.... Me not used to being underpaid.
