Truth.

I'll probably dislike Slumdog Millionaire. Mostly because of it's hype and what not. Otherwise I would probably think of it as a decent film.

It seems like one of those movies that takes style over content, like Amélie.

Yes, but most of the films you're talking about don't get hyped for being 'jewels of modern day cinema' like Slumdog Millionaire or Amélie.

Then again, so does Quentin Tarantino and I loved every one of his movies except for the Kill Bill movies.

He's got the awesome dialogue and ultra-violence and what not.

Talking about Tarantino taking style over substance and what not.

No, wait, he doesn't, considering I was talking about content not substance in the first place. His movies have some fairly interesting stories, even though they seem to be message-less.

My friend likes Slipknot...too much.

as for Amelie, i liked it.
i wouldnt say it was great.
or that it was a Jewel of modern day cinema, but chances are i'll never say that about anything.

I liked Amélie as well. It was a nice film, though nowhere near as great as people said and say it was. Then again, when I first saw it, I knew people were going to rave about it, because of it's quirky nature and granted Audrey tatou is pretty good in it as well.
