The new vinyls are bound to have some distinguishing factor to tell them apart from the old issues, so the old ones will not lose their value. My precious Nimrod was a bargain, but a lot of the old stuff is way beyond the pockets of younger fans, so at least they will have a chance to experience the wonder that is vinyl at a reasonable cost.
I have a full set of original vinyls (including a green Dookie and a purple International Superhits) but I still want these new issues to add to my collection. This year just happens to be my 50th birthday, and my man is buying me each release as it comes out - I get a present a month for virtually a whole year! I knew I married him for a reason.
The one thing I notice every time, though is the beginning of Jaded. I have this thing with that first line ... "Somebody keep my balance, I think I'm falling off..." I used to always hear it wrong, but I've definitely learned the words now and know what they are. However, in this version, I'm hearing the old mis-heard lyrics again ... "Somebody take my pants, I think they're falling off..." And he sings it so fast - it really does sound like that to me. Every time I watch this video, I do a double-take at that part as if I'd never seen it before. It's so dis-orienting!
