Nah, it shows you have a different taste from 'good taste', eh.
There is no 'good taste', only opinion awehawe Plus, you only know Green Day's singles anyway, and probably just about 10 of those too. While I listen to a lot of their stuff from all their albums.

Green Day are better than that crappy 'United States of Whatever' band anyway! Musically, they are more advanced, and their lyrics are better.

I have about every Green Day album you dimwit, which I've told you in the past, I used to listen to Green Day a lot when I was young and an idiot.

They're hardly musically advanced compared to Liam Lynch, difference is though, Liam Lynch makes music for comedic purposes, while Green Day are seriously shit.

It's like Panic, by the Smiths

"The songs they play says nothing to me about my life"

Green Day are relatable for me, while all those progressive metal and space rock bands say nothing to me about anything, no matter how good they sound.

Well then granted, most progressive metal bands are individualistic instrumentalists so the band will hardly ever sound good. But that really has nothing to do with the matter at hand.

I don't see how people can say that Coldplay are bland and simple (which they are imo) and then listen to Green Day. They're basically the same only with distortion and a different type of lyrics. Not saying you've said this in the past, but I've been hearing it a lot from Green Day and Blink fans lately...

I know! I was just giving you a typical Green Day fan response.

I don't care how 'musically advanced' they are, since I listen to stuff I like, not what is deemed 'muscially acceptable' by the Music Authority awehawe

Then why use ''They're musically advanced'' as an argument? Seriously.

I don't listen to Coldplay since the music doesn't interest me personally, but I'm not going to start slagging them off because a lot of people like them, from all sorts of groups of people and stuff.

I don't find Green Day boring and bland. You do. You can't understand what I hear when I listen to them, I find it interesting, and relatable to, etc.

I didn't. I said they were more advanced than the other band, not that they were musically advanced full stop. It was used in context.

Yeah, I understand that, what bothers me though is that the Walshies of this world whine about Coldplay being simple and that and calling them shit for it, and then go listen to Green Day and act like they're some complex Radiohead-like band. They're not, they're just as simple musically. Liking them is one thing but being an annoying hypocrite fanboy is something completely different.

Which is basically what has made me hate Green Day, the fanboys. That, and Billie Joe sometimes coming off as a pretentious **** in interviews.

Yeah.

Doesn't really matter in what context you used it though, does it?

Well yeah... of course they're not Radiohead-complex or anything. Musically, they're straightforward, and well, yeah. Simple. But a lot of punk music is simple, really. Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Damned, etc., etc.

But they're considered great by a lot of people. I don't consider Green Day 'great', and not one of the greatest bands ever, but I enjoy them. It's just as simple as that, I'm not a huge fan of the members of the band, and I don't care about interviews or articles in magazines, I just like the music.
