The show was great. They played close to three hours. First set opened with Welcome To Paradise then they played almost all of the new album. The new material is great; picks up where American Idiot left off. Green Day well own the summer of '09.
The second set traversed Green Day history with songs from Kerplunk, Nimrod, Warning, Dookie and American Idiot. Second set songs I recall include She, Christie Road, F.O.D., American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, Longview, and Minority, among others. As for covers, the band through in a Stand By Me/Shout medley, more as a joke, I suppose, but it was fun. The band was definitely into it and sounded tight as hell. For me, it was $20 very well spent.
Its 3 Am here.
I just called Live 105, they aren't playing it tonight or tomorrow. He said possibly this week sometime, said the band and label reps were there the other day playing the album for the studio manager.
So, it wasbullshit and I had to call California from Rhode Island at 3 in the morning to confirm that. But my school foots the phone bill, so its all gravy.
One detail needs to be released: One guy told us that the band played two 45 minutes sets this past weekend at the Independent during the break of a football- or baseball game. We weren´t sure wheater we should believe him or not but yeah. And then I´ve heard GD are going to play more secret shows the next days...!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Seriously?
