a power play is when you have a man advantage on the other team because one of their boys were bad and broke the rules and has to sit in a box for 2 minutes for a minor infraction to think twice about his actions next time while his team kills it off. unless of course a goal is scored during the power play in which case he learned his lesson and can join his team back on the bench!
