I'm not a massive fan of 'comics' as per se, so I generally stick to one-offs like Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and Sandman, and when I read Batman I don't even take into account that he exists in a universe with Superman

All other DC universe characters just look dumb and campy next to Batman. Batman's a realistic and engaging superhero who doesn't rely on laser eyes and flight to get shit sorted. He's also a psychologically complex and interesting individual.
