I did this with a broom stick for half an hour a day to build up my traps for rugby. just do it slowly and with dynamic tension.
weights are good to use if you prefer it but I just did it with broom stick after my chiropractor told me to and showed me how to do it

we don't have even have a broomstick, because we aren't witches, but i could use a long brush, i think that would be too light though.
