I think the course might run for a couple of months... I'll have to double check. Cost me 150 out of my pocket! Excited to learn, though. I miss school a lot. This course specifically focuses on stand up. They also do improv classes, but I'd rather stick to stand up at the moment. I've been doing it for about a year now. Had one gig once! I got to do 10 minutes of material and I made five dollars!! Hahaha.

I work at a local business in town. It has four floors and I'm the manager of the lower level, which is like the organizational department, as well as laundry and desk-y stuff. I also am a buyer, meaning I get to buy all the things I sell on the floor! It's a lot of fun, but can be stressful. It's a family run business, so we don't get regular raises. Also, there's no HR department or corporate, so if you need to complain about higher management not doing their jobs, you really have no one to complain to, except for their family members. Who will likely defend them. I've always been against corporate and that jazz, but working for family businesses also ****ing sucks.

Film studies is awesome. Do you have any of your works on youtube or anything? What's your favorite thing about school and studying and stuff?

Big cities can be so stressful. I kind of like that I'm in a small city. Well, it's not really that much of a city. More like a huge town, haha.

superm

Do you have any videos of you performing? Getting one gig is better than nothing I suppose, it's a start, anyway! I love the idea of stand-up, but no way would I have the confidence for it. Plus there's the writing of the material. How much material have you written so far, and what style of comedy is it?

That kind of job sounds good but like you say stressful, with the having to keep on top of things and heaven forbid, having to be responsible mhmm The closest thing I've done to proper work recently was a couple of short internships for some film production companies. I got to do running work for Working Title (Shaun of the Dead, most of the Coen Brothers' films) for two weeks, which was good but stressful as it mostly involved dashing about places around Central London, delivering parcels and documents, and getting various people food and drinks. The other one was for a smaller company, I did some script evaluations, and some marketing work for upcoming films, but that was for four weeks so I had time to settle in a bit better.

I think the thing I enjoy most about uni so far is the challenge. Having to do essays on a lot of new topics is great for getting the mind working, and I think I need something like that to keep me occupied, as well as having to maintain some vague kind of routine. I reckon as soon as I finish I'll miss it, too. The first year has already gone by so quickly.

I've got one video on YouTube if you want to see it, we all got given the topic of "Listening Skills", but me and my mate ended up taking it in a much weirder direction. I directed, wrote, and edited it, too, so I already seem to be setting myself up as some kind of auteur awehuhs Not that this vid is any massive achievement or anything, haha.

In my defense, unlike Welshy, I've got shit to do.

Haha it's all good!

I actually do have a video of me performing haermm This was taken maybe about a month ago?? I'm massively self conscious, I hate watching myself, but here it is. BE NICE, I've been doing this for about a year now. I wish I wasn't looking at my notebook so much. I was a little drunk and nervous about being filmed haermm

xe5SLDWoLtQ&feature=share

I've written quite a bit of material, my little notebook is over half filled. A years worth of stuff. Some good, some bad, some just thoughts that need to be worked out. I studied theater but haven't been doing much in the past year or so, so the stand up makes up for that hole. I must perform! awehuhs

Your film internships sound super awesome! I would love to do something like that. Even if it is running some errands from time to time. That's awesome that you got to work for Working Title!! You probably met some people that have done a lot of work in professional film and have worked with some cool actors, huh?

I miss school for keeping my brain active! It's hard to self motivate for me. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Good job with the little film! Do you have any new films lined up? Or little vignettes you've done on your own? I wish I got into film.

You suck.

Just kidding, I didn't watch the video.

Can you go away awehuhs
