In the past five years, I've carefully cultivated my taste in music by exploring music of my own volition and that, and it's one of the few things I'm proud of. That I've discovered the wide range of music that I like, without having to have been told what's cool and what's not. The music I like, it's because I've listened to it and it's hit a note with me, not because of what some disparate group of so-and-sos have decreed to be "Best New Music".

You're someone I consider to have pretty spot-on music taste, so naturally I assume we'd have some good chats about music and shit, but it seems you assume I'm still as naive and easily-led as I was when I was 16. It's just disappointing, is all. I'm not particularly fond of being misconstrued, so it's something I allow myself a degree of passion in defending.

And I'm not going into this because I'm 'offended' or 'upset' or 'angsty'. I mean hell yeah I'm angsty, but about far more meaningful shit. I'm not that petty. I just like having debates and discussions. I enjoy writing. I want to be a writer as a trade, for crying out loud. Don't take my passion for writing and phrasing things in certain ways as a direct link to my state of mind.
