But I am considering spending more for Active Noise Cancelling, cause I really, really like my ears.

Using cheap headphones for prolonged periods is really bad for the ears. My right ear lost about 20-30% hearing because I'd play loud music at max volume and the tinny, crackling sounds coming from the cheap headphones was probably the cause of it.

I'm using B&O BeoPlay H6 (regular version) as my daily headphones, and a cheap Sony headphones with noise cancelling when I'm vacuuming the rooms or when I don't want to hear any disturbances.

EDIT: Talking about iPhone, I heard they're eliminating the 3.5mm jack. So you'll have to use wireless headphones, or a special auxiliary cable to plug in the USB type-C.

You probably don't want to play music at max volume all the time. But good headphones, a DAC and higher quality media would get rid of the crackling.

Yeah, I don't listen to loud music, I listen quietly, and the headphones are pretty good quality, especially for the price. The Wirecutter recommends them.

And yeah, that's why I'm waiting for the iPhone, it seems likely that they'll eliminate the 3.5 jack, and additionally there's a rumour that they'll come out with headphones (perhaps through beats) with noise cancelling. So I want to look at that first, and also, perhaps Bose will bring out something fitted to the iPhone.
