That exact amp was my first amp, and it was a piece of shit. It was quiet as **** (I used it to practise with the band, and even though all of our amps were 30w, mine was barely audible), it didn't work well with a Boss DS-1, it had a pitifully small amount of effects on it and even then they were mostly shit. You can get decent Orange solid states for less money, unless all you're looking for is some terrible distortion channels and bullshit flangers, in which case sure, get a Spider. Otherwise, spend the same amount of money on literally any other amp. Modelling amps can be awesome, but the Spider III is not. It's cheap, badly-made tosh. Hell, even a Spider IV is a ****tonne better.

You assume too much about my opinions... brev.

I think it should be totes acceptable for women to have beards if they want one GDI

It totes is though <3 **** the status quo

I like how you say "Are you being pretentious again?" then assume that's the case and fly off the handle because somebody has an opinion awehuhs Heaven forbid if the person saying the thing has genuine, first-hand experience with what they're talking about, right?

I can't grow any semblance of a beard, and I'm 23. Probs just gonna stay this way forever knowing my luck mmm

Like I said, it's a great budget amp for home use i.e. when playing by yourself. Obviously it's going to be shit when you're playing with a drummer present, let alone a band. Also, I got that Spider for around €50,- at the time, I've never seen an Orange for anywhere near that price. But don't let that stop you from using pretentious hyperbole. 🙂

Now I really miss my beard :'(

It's just that you have a track record for being pretentious about things. At one point people are going to assume.

Also, how did I fly off the handle? You're now basically doing the same thing of which you accused me.

"Pretentious hyperbole" ≠ "Actual relevant points"

Okay so fair enough you got it that cheap, I paid a fair amount more for mine.

I used it at home for a year and a half before I used it with the band, and it was still bad then. The clean channel was a joke, literally no punch to it and it was muddy as ****. I really didn't enjoy using that amp, I've owned 5 or so amps since and they've all been a lot better, including the Marshall MG30DFX, which also had a fairly bad clean channel (but a much better distortion channel) and which I picked up for about £40 – £60 on Ebay. Keep defending it all you like, your opinions are your opinions man, who am I to say you didn't enjoy using it? But if someone asked me if they should buy one, I'd say no.

You do realise you can discuss stuff with people without being a little ****, right?

So do you, but I generally give you the benefit of the doubt.

Also, since English isn't your first language, are you aware that 'having an opinion on something' does not mean the same thing as 'being pretentious'? Because you really do throw around that word a lot.

Totally haermm

Honestly Scribs, I agree a Line 6 shouldn't be anything more than a practice amp, but it just bugs me whenever I hear/read gear snobbery, especially at the time when I got that amp I didn't have any money whatsoever and had to be happy with any low-price offering I could find. To have some pedant refer to that as ''depressing'' can be annoying, I'll admit. I think you're an ok guy and that, I apologize for ''flying off the handle''.

Right, like how referring to someone's choice of practice amp as ''depressing'' isn't being a little *****.

I wasn't trying to be a gear snob, I owned one too, yo.

Let's leave it at that, yeah? awehuhs
