The thing with match betting is you have to follow the instructions.

You sign up to paddy power using a link that promises a free bet if you make a ten pound bet when you sign up and place 10 pound bet on a boring football result with odds 1/1.5 (total winnings 15)

You must lay this bet on bet fair. So sign up to bet fair and bet on that outcome to NOT happen. May win 9.99 or lose 15.01 depending on maths nobody cares about.

So you either win 15 on paddy power and lose 15.01 on bet fair, or you lose 10 on paddy power and win 9.99 on bet fair.

Yes, this is a loss, but this is how you access a free bet of 30 pounds.

Now it's a simple repeat, only this time you want high odds, 1/5. Again, some boring football result.

Paddy power is 30 free bet to turn into 150 pounds cash! And you match it on bet fair, a win of 29 or a loss of 121 pounds.

Using maths, this is what you're winning: 150 from paddy power minus 121 loss from bet fair (total of 29) OR you lose your free bet from paddy power and gain 29 from bet fair because you won that bet.

Withdraw your winnings.

This is a crude explanation, but it's how I gained my money.
